About AME - Association for Mineral Exploration & 2019 AME Roundup – Vancouver, British Columbia
AME - Association for Mineral Exploration is the leading mineral exploration and development association in British Columbia (BC). Headquarter in Vancouver, AME represents, advocates, protects and promotes the interests of thousands of members who are engaged in mineral exploration and development in British Columbia and worldwide.
Since its inauguration more than 100 years ago in 1912 with only a few members, AME - Association for Mineral Exploration has grown to represent more than 5,000 members in Canada and other 37 countries, becoming one of the predominant and more influential associations in Canada in all subjects related to mineral exploration.
Among its members, there is a wide diversity of individuals with complementary technical backgrounds, such as geoscientists, prospectors, engineers, geotechnical companies, entrepreneurs, geotech drilling companies, suppliers and mineral producers, all engaged in mineral exploration and mine development in British Columbia and overseas.
Through clear initiatives, pioneering, leadership, support, and cooperation, AME BC is focused on the promotion of a healthy environment and business climate for the mineral exploration industry. Lead by Edie Thome, the President & CEO of AME BC, the association acts as an industry advocate for its membership, focusing on urging matters that would support successful mineral exploration in British Columbia.
One of the tools that the AME (Association for Mineral Exploration) uses to keep its members and the general public engaged with mineral exploration, while raising awareness regarding the latest trends in technology is through the quarterly publication of the Mineral Exploration magazine, distributed by Canada Wide Media Limited.
The Mineral Exploration magazine talks about geology, mining techniques and trends, innovative technology, machinery and interesting projects. Special features in the publication include comprehensive reporting on the world’s largest technical mineral conference - Mineral Exploration Roundup - as well as AME BC’s annual Buyers Guide.
British Columbia’s enormous success in mineral exploration have attracted talented individuals in the fields of geotechnical engineering, Geotech drilling, prospecting, environmental science, geoscience and other related fields as a result of the work done by AME and other associations in the province. This wide group of individuals work together in order to obtain access to land to explore, discover and develop mineral resources, while also showcasing their benefits to the general public and the whole community.
The main and must-attend event organized by AME BC is the annual roundup event, which takes place every year in Vancouver (British Columbia). The event generally consists of four days of networking opportunities, keynote speeches, awards gala, professional development sessions and much more.
Year after the year, the AME’s Mineral Exploration Roundup conference brings together geotechnical engineers, geotech drilling contractors, investors, suppliers, consultants, designers and geoscientists to put their ideas forward, reflect about the future of the industry and share their latest findings and stories.
AME’s Mineral Exploration Roundup is a once-a-year opportunity to establish new connections, gain a better understanding of the current and future challenges of the market and have access to innovative solutions and collaborative ideas in the engagement with other industry leaders. In the past decade, the event has been extremely successful attracting more than 6,000 participants representing tens of countries.
Focused on the theme “Elements for Discovery“, Roundup 2019 will explore global issues such as the role of mineral exploration in tackling climate change, virtual reality applications in mining as well as emerging technologies and markets.
